Monster of overpopulation is being ignored

Much of the developed world has had its attention focused on climate change lately, with the Times Colonist an enthusiastic disciple. But the monster lurking over our shoulder, and growing stronger every year, is world overpopulation.

Much of the developed world has had its attention focused on climate change lately, with the Times Colonist an enthusiastic disciple.

But the monster lurking over our shoulder, and growing stronger every year, is world overpopulation. This is the monster that will cause the deaths of millions (billions?) of humans and seriously threaten the Earth’s ecology, and soon. Even climate change would cease to be an issue with several billion fewer souls on the planet.

Overpopulation has already contributed to the decimation or destruction of countless species.

Why is the monster of population growth and overpopulation largely ignored these days? Is it because the scientific community feels that there is nothing they can do about it? That it involves complex cultural issues?

Maybe we can get Al Gore involved. I understand that his documentaries can work wonders.
