HarbourCats win again to remain unbeaten to start WCL season

The Victoria HarbourCats moved to 5-0 to start the West Coast League baseball season with a 9-5 victory over the Walla Walla Sweets (0-5) on Tuesday night at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park.

NCAA Fresno State catcher Tyler Davis had a monster night with a homer and four RBIs in his season debut for the ­HarbourCats.

Infielder Kevin Shea, ­batting .471 on the season, added to his swinging start with two hits and two runs scored. Hometown ­Victoria-product Sam Jordan took the win in relief after starter Sean Heppner of Point Roberts, Washington, put in a good outing and went four ­complete innings, striking out 10 with one walk and allowing four hits and two runs.

The three-game set concludes today at 11 a.m. with the annual school field-trip game at Royal Athletic Park.
