The Spruce Kings overwhelmed the Victoria Grizzlies 8-2 in a B.C. Hockey League game Saturday night in Prince George.
Kazumo Sasaki recorded the hat-trick for the Spruce Kings (5-8-3) while Skogen Schrott had a goal and three assists. Slovakian-import Tobias Pitka, committed to Boston College of the NCAA, and Oscar Pantzare replied for the Grizzlies (8-5-2).
Tyler Hodges made 30 saves in goal for the Grizzlies and Carter Wishart 25 for Prince George.
The Grizzlies leave the north with a split after Jacksenn Hungle’s overtime goal gave Victoria a 4-3 win on Friday night in Prince George.
In other BCHL action Saturday night, the Coastal Conference-leading Chilliwack Chiefs (12-3-2) beat the Nanaimo Clippers (4-9-2) by a 6-1 count and the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (10-4-1) defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals (7-8) 4-1.
The Bulldogs and Grizzlies meet next Friday night at the Q Centre.
