Shamrocks remain undefeated in WLA

The undefeated Victoria Shamrocks moved to 11-0 in the Western Lacrosse Association with a 12-8 victory over the Adanacs on Saturday night in Coquitlam.

Mathieu Gautier led the Shamrocks with four goals while Patrick Dodds scored twice with two assists. Marshal King and Casey Wilson also had four-point nights with a goal and three assists each. Tom Vaesen added a goal and two assists, Trent DiCicco a goal and an assist, and Chris Wardle had three assists. Max Wilson and Denton MacDonald also scored for Victoria.

Adam Noakes led the Adanacs (4-7-1) with two goals and two assists. The first period was tied 3-3 with the Shamrocks taking a 7-5 lead into the third period.

Chris Origlieri made 34 saves in goal for Victoria and Andrew Gallant 36 for Coquitlam.

The Shamrocks play the Nanaimo Timbermen (3-5-1) in the Island derby on Wednesday night at the Q Centre before meeting the Burnaby Lakers (3-6-1) on Friday night at the Q Centre.— Times Colonist
