Victoria Shamrocks remain undefeated after besting Salmonbellies

The Victoria Shamrocks remained undefeated in the Western Lacrosse Association with perhaps their biggest victory of the season Thursday night at Queen’s Park Arena.

The Shamrocks (9-0) beat the defending WLA-champion New Westminster Salmonbellies (5-4) convincingly 16-7 as Tom Vaesen had an eight-point night on a goal and seven assists and Marshal King a seven-point outing with four goals and three assists. Mathieu Gautier added a hat trick for Victoria and Trent DiCicco and Casey Wilson two goals each.

The Shamrocks led 8-3 after the first period and 12-4 after the second period.

Victoria hosts the Salmonbellies next Friday at The Q Centre.
