What are the top three issues?
1. Taxation...in the form of municipal taxes, fees and permits. There are a couple of bylaws and draft bylaws such as the Community Wildfire Protection that are having and may have significant financial impact on many of our residents. As well a thorough line by line review of our Municipal budget is in order.
2. The Sandown proposal..with apologies to Forrest Gump it is like a box of chocolates, we have no idea what we are going to get! There are many many more details that must be fleshed out and we need extensive public consultation and extensive public input before any commitments are made by the district with respect to this proposal.
3. Lack of housing options for young people and young families. Secondary suites are a start but I wouldn't want to have to walk past my landlord's garbage cans and recycling boxes to get to the front door of my home.Lack of housing options for seniors who no longer want to maintain a large lot but want to stay in the district.
Why should people vote for you?
We need to have a Balanced Approach for a Balanced Community. That is what I am striving for. I will work on behalf of the residents that live in residential areas as well as the residents that live in rural/agricultural areas of the district.
I have 18 years of experience sitting on municipal councils the last 9 in North Saanich.

What are the best things about your community?
1. The Volunteer Fire Department.
2. The parks and trails, beaches, roadside produce stands and the rural farms,the marinas.
What are the most vexing things about your community?
Inadequate bus service.
