Political party: How long have you been a member?

Joined in the BC Conservative in 2024

Do you live in the riding, and if so, for how long? If not, what is your connection to the riding?

Resident of Greater Victoria

What is your occupation, and for how long?

CEO of the Wilson’s Group, Wilson’s Transportation

What do you believe is the biggest issue facing your community and why?

Crime & Public Safety. The Majority of British Columbians are currently living in fear for their family’s safety. Everyone should be able to comfortably walk around their neighborhoods without threat of violence. The Conservative Party of BC has a plan to protect our communities by putting criminals in jail and stop the distribution of hard drugs like Meth that fuels violent outbursts.

What actions or efforts have you taken to learn the concerns of your constituents?

John’s commitment to his community is as strong as his dedication to his business. Born and raised in Victoria, he has a deep-rooted passion for his hometown and has become well-known as an active community leader and philanthropist. Whether through sponsorships, volunteer work, or leadership in various organizations. He has served as the Past President of Victoria’s SKAL Club, a Board Member of the Greater Victoria Sport Tourism Commission, and a key participant in environmental initiatives like Surfrider Approved.

What do you want to see improved in British Columbia in four, eight and 20 years?

Over the term of a Conservative Government we’d like to see Greater Victoria prosperous with safe streets, affordable housing and accessible healthcare. In seven years under the NDP people don’t feel safe to walk the streets of their neighborhood, housing has gotten out of control. Its even gotten so bad, you have to arrive hours before the walk in clinic opens on the hopes you’ll see a doctor that day.

Over a longer term John Wilson would advocate for an end to the Colwood Crawl the greatest daily bottlneck in Greater Victoria.

How would you go about addressing contentious issues within your riding?

John Wilson has always been able to work with various groups to find consensus. From his volunteer experience John has been able to get people to come together and support working to a common goal.

Would you vote against your party and leader if it were best for your constituents?

John Wilsons fully supports John Rustad and the Conservative Party of BC Platform. If John is fortunate enough to be elected he will advocate for all residents of Esquimalt Colwood and bring their concerns to the BC Legislature making sure their voices are represented.

Why do you think you are qualified to do this job?

John’s experience building a transportation corporation and giving back to the community leaves him in a prime position to contribute to the Government of BC. John has the experience being able to take in information from a variety of stakeholders and turn it into meaningful consensus. Over the next four years tough decisions will need to be made and John has the experience required to help lead BC into the future.

Why are you running – what’s your motivation?

John Wilson is running for the Conservative Party of BC in this election because under the last seven years of David Eby and the NDP life has only gotten worse. BC needs to bring common sense back to its Government. He joined the Conservative party because it has plan to make life more affordable, prioritize public safety, fix our healthcare system and keep government accountable.
