Langford Mayor Stew Young and Ian Asselstine, vice-president of development for Ledcor Property Investments, cut the ribbon Thursday to start construction on the Reunion condominium building on the Belmont lands in Langford.
The Reunion will have 80 units and is the start of the last of four phases of the massive development on the site of the former Belmont High School.
The 22-acre community will have 520 condo and rental units built when complete. The first two phases are finished and sold and phase three is under construction and 96% sold.
The master-plan community also includes 160,000 square feet of commercial space, developed by Crombie REIT, including the 53,000-square foot Thrifty Foods currently operating on the site.
Ledcor has worked steadily on the site since breaking ground in 2018, and has accelerated its construction pace based on how quickly the units have been selling.
