A musical celebration honouring radio host Dylan Willows will be held at the Royal Theatre on March 19.
The Dylan Willows Celebration is a grassroots fundraising effort designed to benefit the broadcaster and his family. The well-known personality and arts and culture advocate was the longtime morning show host for The Zone in Victoria until his recent cancer diagnosis forced him to step away from the station.
Willows, 44, has assisted many notable bands over the years, several of which are performing at the concert in his honour. Current Swell, Jon and Roy, Miina, the Bankes Brothers, Astrocolor (duo set), Vince Vaccaro, Liinks, Acres of Lions, Tyler Harvey and Mike Hann, and Deep Sea Gypsies are among those scheduled to perform. A video performance by Jesse Roper will also be featured.
Tickets ($34.75-$58) for the event, which is expected to sell out, go on sale Thursday at 11 a.m. through the Royal McPherson box office (250-386-6121) or rmts.bc.ca.
