VANCOUVER — Longtime Liberal organizer and former party president Andrew Wilkinson won his party’s leadership contest Saturday, leveraging his strong ties with existing MLAs and a co-operative deal with rival candidate Mike de Jong to pull off victory in the leadership race in the fifth ballot by a narrow margin against rival Dianne Watts.
The Liberal party says almost 60,000 members were eligible to vote, with roughly half its new members signed up by the candidates during the five-month race.

Dianne Watts: 2,135 points – 24.54%
Michael Lee: 1,917 points – 22.03%
Andrew Wilkinson: 1,591 points – 18.29%
Todd Stone: 1,483 points – 17.05%
