Sidney Days and Canada Day
Start the festivities today at Beacon Park with opening ceremonies and live music by The Bankes Brothers starting at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks to follow.
Canada Day events continue on Friday. The Sidney Lions are hosting their Pancake Breakfast at the Mary Winspear Centre at 8 a.m. The Canada Day Parade kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and is followed by the Family Fun Fair at Iroquois Park. Slegg Build-a Boat takes place from 12-4 p.m. with the boat launch at 4:45 p.m. from Beacon Park. Get all the details at sidney.ca.
Victoria
Canada Day 2022 presented by Central Walk, Friday at Ship Point at the Inner Harbour featuring diverse, locally focused performances. Main stage, highlighted by Jesse Roper, features Garret T. Willie, Don Alder, Capital City Syncopators, Claire Coupland, Victoria Children’s Choir and the Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club Chinese Lion Dancers, performances by the Veselka Ukrainian Dancers and the Kalyna Ukrainian Choir. Plus interactive activities, experiential exhibits, multicultural food options, and a fireworks display to bring the day’s festivities to a close at 10:20 p.m. For more information, go to canadadayvictoria.ca.
Saanich
Canada Day Gorge Picnic, along Gorge Waterway. 21 Gun Salute at Bullen Park. As a part of Canada Day celebrations, a 21 Gun Salute will be taking place in Esquimalt at Bullen Park, 1-1:15 p.m.
Langford
Langford’s 30th Anniversary and Canada Day events will be held at Starlight Stadium, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and will include live music with local musician Vince Vaccaro headlining, a hot wing eating contest, and a blue ribbon pie baking contest, among others. West Shore RCMP will be doing K9 unit demonstrations and Langford Fire Rescue will host a firefighter obstacle course. Also, enjoy a family movie shown on the turf. Details at langford.ca.
Chemainus

Ladysmith
The festivities kick-off in the morning with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Ladysmith Kinsmen Club, then the official ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the ampitheatre with the dignitaries welcome and the Stz’uminus Young Wolves Dancers performing. Live music starats at 11:30 a.m. featuring Nate Harris followed by Robbie Hancock. As part of the celebrations, we will be offering cupcakes from the Old Town Bakery. Celebrate Canada Day as part of Duncan’s 39 Days of July. Enjoy live music at Charles Hoey Park on Canada Avenue, noon-7 p.m highlighted by Cowichan Valley Grass Roots Orchestra at 3 p.m. and the Porter Brothers at 7 p.m. Performing at City Square at 8:15 p.m is the David Gogo Band.
