West Shore RCMP are warning people not to leave packages in their vehicles or on front porches, after 17 reports of thefts from vehicles so far in November, up from 13 in October.
Since thefts from vehicles often rise in the lead-up to the holiday season, police suggest bringing deliveries and shopping inside as soon as you get home.
“Don’t leave packages in your car or front porch. If possible, schedule deliveries for when you are home to receive them and store items in your trunk when you’re out shopping,” police said in a statement.
