Fire investigators are combing through the rubble of a Wednesday night barn fire in Saanich to find the cause of the blaze.
No animals were harmed.
“The inspector is going to head out and investigate to come to some kind of determination with regard to the cause of the fire,” Battalion Chief Michael Game said early this morning.
The fire broke out at about 11 p.m.
Saanich firefighters arrived on the scene in the 1700-block of Woodsend Drive to find a portion of a barn on fire.
“All of the animals made it out of the barn with no injuries,” according to Battalion Chief Derrik Ash.
Eleven firefighters responded to the blaze equipped with two fire engine trucks, a tender truck, rescue truck, and a command vehicle.
The fire was quickly contained and put out, Ash said.
Damage is estimated at $50,000.
