B.C. Ferries said a "security incident" aboard the 9 a.m. ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay caused a 35-minute delay Sunday.

"Nobody was harmed," said B.C. Ferries spokesman Darin Guenette.

He wouldn't elaborate on the details of the incident, but added that the incident occurred immediately after the ferry, the Spirit of Vancouver Island, left dock. The vessel ran late the rest of the day, Guenette said.

B.C. Ferries conducted an internal investigation.
