Yates Street between Government and Wharf streets is reopened after being closed for two hours this morning as police investigated a death near the Yates Street parkade. Langley Street is also reopened.

Victoria police spokesman Const. Mike Russell said around 8:20 a.m. several 911 calls came into police about a man near the parkade. Emergency responders tried to revive the man but he died. Russell said the man’s death is not deemed suspicious but is under investigation.

The man’s identity is not yet known. He is white and likely in his late 20s or early 30s.

The Yates Street parkade was closed while police investigated. However, those with cars already in the parkade could enter with a police escort and drive out.
