A man has been arrested in Ontario after the Colwood home of a Punjabi music star was shot at and two vehicles were set on fire in the early hours of Sept. 2.

On Wednesday, police arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra of Winnipeg in connection with the incidents in the 3300-block of Ravenwood Road. West Shore RCMP said an occupant of the residence was evacuated after the shooting.

Kingra, who was set to appear in an Ontario court on Thursday, has been charged with discharge of a firearm with intent and arson, police said.

The home targeted was that of Punjabi music star AP Dhillon, who posted a short statement on social media the day of the shooting saying he was safe.

An arrest warrant has been issued for another man, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, who was last known to be residing in Winnipeg but is believed to be currently in India, West Shore RCMP said.

Sharma is wanted for discharge of a firearm with intent and arson.

He is described as a South Asian male, five-feet-nine-inches tall and 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, police said.

Anyone with information on Sharma’s whereabouts is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. Police said no further information is being released.
