Nanaimo RCMP are searching for a man who tried to steal oxycodone and Percocet from a pharmacy.
The robbery took place Thursday at 11:20 p.m. at the Shoppers Drug Mart in the Country Club Mall, said Const. Gary O’Brien.
The man entered the pharmacy and passed a note to the pharmacist saying he had a gun and wanted oxycodone and Percocet. Both drugs are opioid pain relievers.
When the pharmacist told the man that the safe was on a time delay and could not be opened, he fled the store.
The pharmacist never saw a weapon.
Officers responded to the area immediately, but could not find the suspect.
The man is described as five-foot-six and 140 to 150 pounds. He was clean shaven and wore aviator-style sunglasses, black pants and a black hoodie with white letters on the back.
