Saanich police are investigating after a boat fire in the 200-block of Gorge Road West .
The incident was reported about 5:45 a.m.
Saanich police Const. Markus Anastasiades said the preliminary investigation suggests no one was aboard the boat in the Gorge waterway, at Gorge Road and Tillicum Road.
“We’re just waiting to board to confirm it’s vacant/abandoned,” Anastasiades said in an email.
