Saanich has served up a questionnaire to get resident input on the future of the popular and sometimes controversial sport of pickleball in the municipality.

Feedback from residents will inform council decisions on park development and future funding requests, the district says, noting demand for pickleball facilities is growing in the region.

Saanich currently has a total of 15 indoor pickleball courts at Saanich Commonwealth Place, Pearkes Recreation Centre and Cedar Hill Recreation Centre, and another 13 outdoor courts.

Two outdoor courts at Tolmie Park are expected to be phased out when the Fowler recreation hub is established near Cordova Bay Golf Course.

Fowler Park will feature six new purpose-built pickleball courts, along with a tennis court.

The questionnaire can be found on the Hello Saanich website: https://hello.saanich.ca/en/projects/expanding-access-to-pickleball-in-saanich-parks.
