Two passengers injured after B.C. Transit bus and SUV collide

Two passengers were taken to the hospital after a B.C. Transit bus and an SUV collided at the intersection of Douglas and Bay on Saturday.

B.C. Transit confirmed in a statement that a bus on Route 30 was “was travelling northbound on Douglas Street just before 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle travelling eastbound on Bay Street struck the bus.”

Security camera video of the collision shows the SUV travelling east on Bay Street, continuing through the intersection, only stopping after it hit the hood of a car in a westbound lane of Bay street.

B.C. Transit said that no other injuries were reported. The bus suffered “serious damages” in the crash, particularly to the front windshield, it said.
