A 22-year-old man is in Victoria General Hospital with stab wounds after being attacked Wednesday night.
Saanich police responded at 9: 17 p.m. to multiple 911 calls of a man being stabbed in a parking lot at 4420 West Saanich Rd., near Royal Oak Drive.
Customers and staff from the nearby Country Grocer rushed to the man's aid, police said.
Tammy Averill, the store's marketing manager, said the staff were "pretty traumatized."
Police and forensic officers are investigating.
The man had serious but non-life-threatening wounds.
