Victoria police officers made an arrest after a man holding a knife chased their vehicle on the weekend.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m. Saturday when officers were on a special assignment to help Victoria bylaw officers on Pandora Avenue, near Vancouver Street.
As the officers were leaving, a man ran after their vehicle while holding a knife over his head, police said. He wasn’t able to catch up to the vehicle and returned to his nearby encampment.
The officers returned and arrested a 31-year-old man for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Police located a double-edged knife.
The man was found to be on release conditions prohibiting from possessing knives or other weapons.
