Two blocks around Centennial Square will be closed to vehicles for several hours Thursday during an Orange Shirt Day event.
One block of Douglas Street between Fisgard Street and Pandora Avenue, and one block of Pandora Avenue between Douglas and Government streets will be closed to vehicles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Vehicles parked in the closed area will be towed.
Parking in the city’s five parkades and at on-street meters outside of the closed area will be free all day Thursday.
The closures will not affect access for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Xe xe Smun’ eem-Victoria Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters Ceremony will take place on Thursday from noon to 2:30 p.m. in Centennial Square. It will also be live streamed on the city’s Facebook page.
